Why Growers Choose Avee

Built for Commercial Growers. Trusted by Home Gardeners.

🧪
EC Guaranteed

Guaranteed EC Below 0.5 mS/cm

Every batch is triple-washed and calcium-buffered at source, then lab-tested before shipping. As a result, EC stays consistent batch to batch — which is essential for cannabis LPs and commercial greenhouse nutrient programs.

⚗️
Ca+

Calcium-Buffered — Ready to Use

Each block is pre-buffered with calcium nitrate before shipping. Consequently, sodium is displaced from cation exchange sites. Your plants receive a clean, stable substrate from the first irrigation — so no extra Cal-Mag soak is needed.

💧
75L

Expands to 70–75 Litres

The 5:1 compression ratio maximises freight efficiency. Furthermore, one block expands to 75L of ready-to-use media. Therefore, one pallet of 220 blocks yields over 16,000 litres of buffered, lab-tested growing medium.

🌿
pH

Stable pH 5.5–6.5

The optimal pH range for nutrient availability is maintained consistently in both hydroponic and soil-based systems. Moreover, it stays consistent batch to batch — so your feeding program works as designed every time without adjustment.

🏭
ON

Ontario-Stocked. Ships in Days.

There is no customs waiting and no container delays from our Cambridge warehouse. It ships to every Canadian province and US state. Furthermore, commercial pallet orders typically dispatch within 2–3 business days from the order date.

🌱
MFG

Manufacturer-Direct — No Middlemen

We own the production units in Tamil Nadu. As a result, when you order, you pay factory price plus freight — not factory price plus three layers of distributor margin. The saving on pallet volumes is significant and passed directly to you.

How to Use

Ready to Use in 4 Simple Steps

Rehydrating our 5kg coco coir block takes about 20 minutes. One block produces 70–75 litres of ready-to-use growing medium.

1

Place in a Large Container

Put the block in a tub or wheelbarrow of at least 80L capacity. A clean wheelbarrow works well for pallet-volume hydration at commercial scale.

2

Add 20–25 Litres of Water

Pour water slowly over the block. Warm water speeds expansion. For pre-buffered coir, plain water is sufficient — no extra Cal-Mag is needed at this stage.

3

Wait 15–20 Minutes

The block absorbs water and expands to 70–75L. Outer layers expand first. Therefore, allow the full soak time to ensure even hydration throughout the entire block.

4

Fluff and Use

Break apart any remaining chunks with a fork or by hand. Then check EC and pH of your runoff before first use. It is ready for direct planting or blending with amendments.

Frequently Asked Questions

5kg Coco Coir Block — Questions Answered

These are the most common questions from Canadian and US growers about our 5kg coco coir blocks. Don't see yours? Ask us directly.

Do I need to add Cal-Mag after hydrating your 5kg block? +
Our blocks are calcium pre-buffered with calcium nitrate before shipping. As a result, you do not need a separate Cal-Mag soak before use. We recommend confirming your runoff EC and pH before the first irrigation. For cannabis, a quick 1.5 EC feed-through is good practice among Canadian licensed producers.
How does 5kg expand to 75 litres? +
The block is compressed at a 5:1 ratio during manufacturing. The coir fibres are tightly packed and dried to below 15% moisture. When you add 20–25 litres of water, the coir rehydrates and consequently expands back to its natural volume — yielding 70–75 litres of fluffy, airy growing medium per block.
What is the EC of your blocks out of the bag? +
EC is consistently below 0.5 mS/cm measured at 1:1.5 dilution. Every batch is lab-tested before it leaves our Tamil Nadu facility. Furthermore, we provide the lab report on request — which is important for licensed cannabis producers and commercial greenhouse operators who need documented substrate data.
Can I get custom texture — fine, medium or coarse? +
Yes. We offer fine, medium, coarse, and custom blend textures — simply specify at the time of order. Fine texture is preferred for propagation and cannabis. Medium and coarse, on the other hand, are popular for tomato and greenhouse vegetable production. Custom ratios are available for pallet orders and above.
Do you ship to the USA? +
Yes. We ship from our Cambridge, Ontario warehouse to all 50 US states. Freight is cross-border LTL or parcel depending on order size. Contact us for a freight quote to your specific location.
What is the minimum order? +
There is no minimum for single blocks — order as few as you need. Pallet pricing (220 blocks) is available for commercial growers and distributors. Container pricing is also available for importers who require large volumes.

Buy 5kg Coco Coir Blocks in Canada — Factory-Direct from Avee Cocoseller

Avee Cocoseller's 5kg coco coir block is Canada's best-value factory-direct compressed coco coir. We manufacture at our own facility in Tamil Nadu, India — one of the world's highest-quality coconut-producing regions. Furthermore, every block is triple-washed, calcium-buffered, and lab-tested before it reaches our Cambridge, Ontario warehouse, where it ships to growers across Canada and the USA within days.

Why Our 5kg Block Outperforms Reseller Stock

Most coco coir blocks sold in Canada pass through two or three distributor hands before reaching you. Each step adds cost and time. In addition, aged stock loses pith integrity — you get a dustier, higher-EC medium that underperforms in hydroponic systems. Because we manufacture ourselves, our blocks arrive with intact pith structure, consistent EC, and a live batch lab report. For more on coco coir substrate quality standards, see this overview of coir properties from ScienceDirect.

Coco Coir Block vs Peat Moss — Why Canadian Growers Are Switching

Peat moss is increasingly regulated in Canada due to wetland conservation concerns. In contrast, coco coir is a 100% renewable byproduct of coconut processing — no wetlands and no depletion involved. It also outperforms peat in re-wettability and structural longevity. As a result, coco coir is now the primary substrate of choice for Canadian greenhouse and hydroponic operations.

5kg Coco Peat Block for Hydroponics, Cannabis & Greenhouse Growing — Canada & USA

Our compressed coco peat blocks are suited to every growing format — from single-plant containers to commercial greenhouse rows. The 5kg size is the most popular format in Canada and the USA. Furthermore, it balances ease of handling with volume efficiency. One pallet of 220 blocks gives a commercial operation over 16,000 litres of buffered, lab-tested growing medium.

Serving Canadian Growers from Coast to Coast

We ship from our Ontario warehouse to all ten Canadian provinces. Our fastest freight lanes serve Ontario's Leamington greenhouse corridor, Niagara Region, and Greater Toronto Area. We also reach BC's Fraser Valley, Alberta's indoor farms, and Quebec's horticulture operations. Moreover, for the USA, we ship to all 50 states. Contact us for freight rates.
