5kg Coco Coir Blocks

Triple-washed, calcium-buffered compressed blocks. The standard format for greenhouses, hydroponics, and home growers across Canada, the USA, and Mexico. Each block expands from 5kg to 70–75 litres of ready-to-use growing medium.

EC < 0.5 mS/cm pH 5.5–6.5 Expands 75L 220/pallet

Why growers choose this format

Every block is calcium pre-buffered with calcium nitrate before shipping, displacing sodium from cation exchange sites so plants get a clean, stable substrate from the first irrigation. Heat-treated processing keeps every batch pathogen-free, with lab documentation available on request — important for cannabis licensed producers and commercial greenhouse nutrient programs across all three markets.

Coco Husk Chips

Coarse-cut, OMRI-listed husk chips delivering roughly 80% air porosity — the highest-aeration substrate in our range. Built for orchids, cannabis, and any crop where overwatering is the main risk.

Husk chips vs. coir pith

Coir pith offers high moisture retention but lower aeration; husk chips invert that trade-off — coarse chunks create air pockets fine pith can't match, at the cost of moisture retention. Many commercial growers blend 70% husk chips with 30% coir pith for balanced root-zone performance, available pre-blended at order.

Open Top Grow Bags

Pre-filled, pot-style bags that eliminate filling and sterilizing labour entirely. Place, hydrate, and plant directly — built for nurseries, ornamentals, and compact crop production.

No pot needed

The substrate is layered so the upper zone retains moisture for developing roots while the lower zone promotes drainage — preventing the base waterlogging that's the primary cause of root rot in container growing. The 400 GSM UV-stabilized bag is built for multi-cycle use across 3–4 seasons under normal greenhouse conditions.

Why LPs are switching from rockwool

When a coco cube transplants into a coco grow bag, the root zone is seamless — no interface gap, no pH mismatch. Rockwool requires a pre-soak to pH 5.5, can't be composted, and is classified as inert construction waste for disposal. Coco cubes are 100% biodegradable and available with custom dibble holes for automated transplant lines.

Loose Coco Coir, 50L

Ready-to-use coir pith with no rehydration step — loosen and use directly. Even hydration from the first scoop, unlike heavily compressed blocks that can leave dry pockets.

Built for fast-turnaround blending

High cation exchange capacity (CEC) means the coir holds onto potassium, calcium, and magnesium instead of letting them wash away, releasing nutrients gradually as plants need them. Naturally buffered and pH-stable, it's a fast option for potting mix manufacturers and distributors who need to blend without a hydration delay.

One product, six industries

Civil engineers and environmental contractors specify jumbo bales for slope stabilization and riverbank reinforcement; commercial greenhouses use them as the lowest-cost-per-litre substrate; potting-mix manufacturers break them down for repackaging. Bales can be used wet (hydrated and fluffed) or dry — broken apart directly for immediate physical erosion resistance with no hydration step.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ordering coco coir across Canada, the USA, and Mexico.

Yes. Pallet-volume orders move via cross-border freight from our Cambridge, Ontario warehouse, the same lane we use for US deliveries. Container and bulk-volume orders ship direct from our manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu to a Mexican port, which is typically the more cost-effective option at scale. Pricing is quoted in MXN or USD — contact us with your volume and delivery region for a quote.
Blocks are a compressed, general-purpose substrate you hydrate and use however you like — pots, raised beds, custom blends. Grow bags are pre-filled, pre-shaped slabs designed to drop directly into a greenhouse row or drip system with no mixing step. If you're running a commercial bench or row system, grow bags save labour; if you need flexibility across multiple uses, blocks are the more adaptable format.
Yes. Contact us with the products and quantities you need and we'll configure a mixed pallet to your specification. This is common for distributors and multi-crop greenhouse operations that want, for example, both grow bags and propagation cubes on a single freight booking.
Yes. Every batch is lab-tested for EC and pH, and reports are available on request — important for cannabis licensed producers in Canada and the USA, and for any operation that requires documented substrate consistency as part of its own certification or compliance program.
There's no minimum for single blocks or bags in Canada and the USA — order as few as you need, with pallet and container pricing available as volume increases. For Mexico, a pallet minimum is recommended for cross-border freight efficiency, with container orders offering the best per-unit cost at scale.
