Greenhouse Vegetable Growers
Commercial tomato, cucumber, pepper and leafy-green operations evaluating repeatable substrate formats for soilless production.
Formats to evaluate: 5 kg compressed blocks and open-top bags
Avee Cocoseller helps commercial greenhouses, nurseries, indoor farms and garden centres plan coco coir orders for Halifax and communities across Nova Scotia, including Truro, Kentville, Antigonish and Sydney–Cape Breton. Orders confirmed in stock dispatch from Avee’s Cambridge, Ontario warehouse; made-to-order formats follow the production and freight schedule in the quotation. Use this page to compare product formats, understand the delivery route and prepare the details needed for an accurate freight estimate.
This page is designed for four common buyer profiles in Nova Scotia and the wider Atlantic region.

Propagation, ornamental and retail operations comparing compressed coco formats, cubes and chips for scheduled replenishment.
Formats to evaluate: propagation cubes and husk chips
Smaller-footprint controlled-environment and indoor production operating across the region.
Formats to evaluate: open-top grow bags
Buyers purchasing for, or coordinating delivery across, more than one Atlantic Canada operation.
Formats to evaluate: pallet and container-scale programmes
Freight distance from Cambridge to Atlantic Canada makes format density a real cost factor, not a minor detail.
| Format | Compression / Density | Freight-Density Note | Best Fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 kg Compressed Coco Peat Block | 5:1 compression; approx. 30×30×12 cm compressed, expands to approx. 70–75 L | Highest — a pallet carries substantially more usable growing volume than the same pallet space in an uncompressed medium | Greenhouse vegetable & general growing-medium orders |
| Coir Propagation Cubes | Small, pre-formed compressed units | High — small footprint per unit relative to volume delivered | Nursery & garden-centre replenishment orders |
| Open-Top Grow Bags | Pre-filled compressed coco substrate, container-style format | Moderate — more finished volume per pallet than loose substrate, less than block form | Pallet/container-scale greenhouse bag-culture orders |
| Coco Husk Chips | Lower compression ratio than pith blocks or cubes | Lower — bulkier per unit of growing volume | Blend component alongside compressed formats |
Custom configurations (dimensions, drainage, blend ratio) are subject to production confirmation.
Avee's confirmed Canadian warehouse is in Cambridge, Ontario, with the Canadian head office in St. Catharines, Ontario. Product confirmed in stock dispatches for the Atlantic leg once availability is confirmed; made-to-order formats follow the production and freight schedule set out in your quotation. Transit depends on product, quantity and destination postal code — provide the delivery postal code for a current freight estimate. Avee does not quote same-week delivery without carrier confirmation.
Dashed / alternate route: qualifying large container orders may be quoted directly from Tamil Nadu — see the next section.
Most Atlantic Canada orders are efficiently handled through the Cambridge warehouse. For genuinely large orders, Avee can quote directly from Tamil Nadu instead.
Approaching a full or near-full ocean container of product.
Highly compressed formats (blocks, cubes) improve container economics.
India-direct orders follow the production and ocean-freight schedule confirmed in your quotation — longer than Cambridge-stock dispatch.
A single confirmed delivery point, or a plan to divide a container among nearby operations.
For a genuinely large, container-scale order, Avee can compare the Cambridge route with a direct-from-India quotation and discuss whether an Atlantic port routing is practical with the freight provider. This is an option to evaluate case by case, not a standard Avee route or a promise of availability, price or transit time.
Nova Scotia growers operate across distinct production areas, so the right delivery plan depends on product format, volume and destination. A Halifax buyer may have different freight needs from a greenhouse in Truro, Kentville, Antigonish or Sydney–Cape Breton. Share the delivery postal code and expected volume at quotation stage so Avee can evaluate the appropriate route. If several nearby operations are planning compatible orders, coordinated timing can be discussed case by case; it is not an existing consolidation programme.
Tell Avee the products, formats and estimated quantity you need, plus your delivery postal code.
Avee confirms whether your order ships from Cambridge stock or is quoted as made-to-order or a container-scale India-direct order, with a freight estimate.
EC/pH batch documentation is available on request as part of your quotation.
No. Avee does not operate a warehouse in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador. Avee's confirmed Canadian warehouse is in Cambridge, Ontario, with the Canadian head office in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Standard orders dispatch from the Cambridge, Ontario warehouse, when confirmed in stock, and move by road freight for the Atlantic leg. Transit depends on product, quantity and destination postal code — provide the delivery postal code for a current freight estimate.
Avee does not commit to same-week delivery without carrier confirmation. Once your order, format and destination postal code are confirmed, Avee provides a transit estimate as part of your quotation.
Generally once an order approaches a full or near-full ocean container and your production schedule allows for the longer lead time direct-from-India shipping requires. Provide your target volume and timeline and Avee can advise on the better fit.
Not as a routine route. For a genuinely large, container-scale order, Avee can compare Cambridge dispatch with a direct-from-India quotation and discuss practical routing with the freight provider. Any port, carrier, availability and transit details are confirmed only in the quotation.
Buyers considering the same product formats can raise the possibility of coordinating volume with Avee at the quotation stage. This is a planning option to discuss, not a program Avee currently runs — each buyer's order, invoicing and delivery is confirmed individually.
Batch documentation, including EC and pH results, is available on request. Custom configurations are subject to production confirmation before they're added to a quotation.
Compressed formats — 5 kg coco peat blocks and propagation cubes — carry more usable growing volume per truck mile, which matters on the Cambridge-to-Atlantic route. Open-top bags and coco husk chips ship in a less compressed state; for larger orders of these formats, Avee can advise on load planning as part of your quotation.
Tell Avee your product, format, order volume and delivery postal code in Nova Scotia or elsewhere in Atlantic Canada. Avee will confirm current availability, the proposed route and the freight estimate in your quotation.
