Coco coir grow slabs for commercial greenhouses

Long-format coir grow bags and slabs for tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. Define geometry, substrate direction, hole layout, crop cycle and irrigation inputs before qualifying a commercial specification.

More than outside dimensions

Design the slab as part of the growing system

A commercial slab combines substrate, packaging, geometry, plant density, irrigation and drainage. Matching only length and width can produce a very different root-zone result.

01 · GEOMETRY

Fit the gutter and root volume

Specify finished and compressed dimensions, target expanded volume, plants per slab and placement tolerances.

02 · PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE

Define measurable targets

Use agreed methods for water-holding, air-filled porosity, bulk density, expansion and particle distribution when these properties are critical.

03 · CUSTOMIZATION

Control holes, film and labelling

Review planting and dripper openings, drainage layout, UV requirement, printing, packing and pallet configuration.

Qualification before scale-up

Turn a product direction into a controlled trial

Send Avee these inputs

  • Crop, variety and full crop-cycle length
  • Gutter drawing and required slab dimensions
  • Plants per slab and litres per plant
  • Current substrate blend and performance concerns
  • Irrigation strategy, dripper flow and water analysis
  • Hole-layout drawing, packaging and annual quantity

Validate the quoted material

  • Confirm EC and pH test methods and applicable tolerances
  • Record hydration procedure, expansion and initial uniformity
  • Trial under your water, fertilizer and irrigation strategy
  • Monitor root-zone response across representative units
  • Approve packaging, quantity, availability and freight in writing
Frequently asked questions

Commercial grow-slab questions

What is the difference between a grow bag and grow slab?

The terms are often used inconsistently. Define the physical format, dimensions, fill, packaging and use rather than relying on the label.

Can one slab specification serve tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers?

It may not. Crops and greenhouse strategies differ in duration, irrigation and desired root-zone response. Review each programme independently.

How are physical-property targets verified?

The buyer and supplier should agree on the sampling and test method, target, tolerance and applicable batch or production run before ordering.

Can Avee match an existing slab?

Avee can review a reference specification, drawings or samples. Commercial feasibility and an exact match should only be claimed after documented comparison and trial.
