Our open top bags are the simplest grow bag to set up. Pre-filled substrate means no mixing, no filling, no mess.
Place the bag in its final location — greenhouse bench, shelf, or growing floor. No tray needed.
Pour water slowly and evenly over the open top, letting it saturate fully through the substrate.
Full expansion takes minutes to up to an hour depending on bag size — larger 27L bags need the most time.
Gently mix the surface substrate for even texture and remove any compressed clumps in the top layer.
Create planting holes or remove plugs, then insert seedlings, cuttings, or transplants directly.
Set up drip or flood irrigation as appropriate, and check drainage from the base holes.
